📖 Synopsis

Set in early-1990s Ho Chi Minh City, Cyclo follows an orphaned 18‑year‑old boy, burdened with supporting his grandfather and two sisters after his father’s death. He works as a cyclo (pedal‑taxi) driver until his cyclo is stolen by thugs. To repay his debt, he reluctantly enters the world of organized crime — trafficking drugs, committing violent acts, and being drawn deeper into moral darkness  .

Meanwhile, his older sister becomes entangled with the same gang under the influence of a brooding crime boss known as the Poet (played by Tony Leung). Their lives spiral together toward a tragic descent marked by violence, betrayal, and hallucination  .
