Critical Reception

The film received predominantly negative reviews from critics.  On Rotten Tomatoes, it holds a low approval rating, with critics citing a convoluted plot and underwhelming visual effects.   The Guardian described it as a "laborious superhero yarn," criticizing its lack of originality and depth.   Similarly, AP News labeled it a "misfire," pointing out the film's failure to establish a coherent narrative and its over-the-top performances.  

Audience Response

Audience reactions were mixed.  Some viewers appreciated the film's gritty action sequences and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's performance, noting it as a standout in the Marvel action genre.   However, others found the storyline lacking and the character development insufficient, leading to a less engaging .

"Kraven the Hunter" underperformed at the box office, grossing approximately $62 million worldwide against a production budget estimated between $110–130 million.   Despite its theatrical shortcomings, the film found a broader audience upon its release on Netflix, where it climbed to the top of the platform's U.S. Top 10 Movies chart shortly after its debut.
